The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office Marine Enforcement Unit will be participating in Operation Dry Water, a national awareness and enforcement campaign focused on preventing boating under the influence (BUI).
Throughout the July 3–5 holiday weekend, deputies will be conducting enhanced patrols and increased enforcement on local waterways. Operating a vessel while impaired by alcohol or drugs is dangerous, illegal, and puts everyone on the water at risk.
As this year’s campaign reminds us: “On the road or the water, you’re headed nowhere fast while impaired.”
Before heading out, make a plan:
- Designate a sober operator
- Wear your life jacket
- Follow all boating safety laws
- Look out for others on the water
Help us keep Yolo County’s waterways safe this Independence Day weekend. Boat sober and arrive alive.
