Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and again this year, the Yolo County Sheriff’s
Office is proud to stand alongside our community in support of the many people whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.
Our 2026 special edition shirts were designed in honor of the month, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Thriving Pink, a local nonprofit based in Davis. Thriving Pink provides support, resources, education, and financial assistance to breast cancer patients, survivors, and their families right here in our community. Their work is a beautiful reminder that no one should have to face this journey alone.
What makes this effort especially meaningful is seeing the support extend beyond our own staff and into the community. As members of our community receive and begin wearing their shirts and sweatshirts, they are helping turn a simple shirt into a meaningful show of support for those fighting breast cancer, those who have overcome it, and the loved ones walking beside them every step of the way.
Throughout October, some of our staff will have the opportunity to wear the shirts while on duty. It’s a small but meaningful way for us to raise awareness and show that our community stands together.
We’re honored to support an organization doing such important work right here in Yolo County.
