Vacation Home Check

The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office offers free home vacation checks year-round. Simply let us know when you’ll be away, and our Sheriff’s Team of Active Retired Seniors (STARS) will keep a watchful eye on your home during your absence.

What to Expect

Our Sheriff’s Team of Active Retired Seniors Patrol will conduct routine exterior security inspections of your home Monday through Friday, including:

Checking for broken windows, open doors, unsecured garages, or any signs of suspicious activity

Moving newspapers or
packages out of public view

Requesting a deputy if
anything appears unsafe or unusual

Providing a “welcome home” letter upon your return, detailing the dates your home was checked and any observations
